What Does Morning Routine For Men Entail?

Morning routine for men isn’t just about waking up at a certain time or eating a certain type of breakfast. It is a lot more than that. Your morning routine should be about making yourself feel active and fresh both physically and mentally. It should help you motivated for the rest of the day. When you ask people about their morning routine, most of them would tell you they wake up at 5 am and then workout or eat breakfast.

Very few would tell you their morning routine is all about getting themselves ready for the future. Working out and eating breakfast are all-important parts of your morning routine but they are not the essence of what morning routine for men is all about. Let’s take a look at a few aspects of morning routine for men that would help you understand the concept better.

The Previous Night

You did not see this coming, did you? But yes, each night of your life is linked to the morning routine of the next day. What you do at night heavily affects your morning routine and ultimately the entire next day. The world has become so fast and ruthless that people tend to stay awake for days just to get an upper hand on their peers.

Not getting a good night’s sleep is not only going to disrupt your morning routine but it is also going to damage your health. Lack of sleep can have negative effects on both your physical and mental state. It is also the cause of many different mental diseases. How can you have a healthy and productive morning when your sleeping pattern is so unhealthy?

In addition to having a healthy sleeping pattern, you should also prepare for the morning at the night before. Most people don’t wake up smiling. They take a lot of time to get in their senses. Some have to be kick-started with the help of coffee. So it is always better to plan for the morning at night. Iron your clothes, get your documents ready, polish your shoes and perform all other necessary things at night. So when you wake up in the morning you have everything already prepared.

Early Birds Get the Worm

Well, we all know what that phrase means. People who wake up early get to enjoy more rewards in life. This is because they are organized and always plan ahead. If you have office at 9 am, then waking up at 8:30 am wouldn’t give you much of a room for your morning activities. However, if you wake up at 6 am then you would ample time to prepare yourself for the day. You can even take a few minutes to relax in the bed until your body is able to get up.

Don’t Ever Miss Your Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. No matter what happens, never miss breakfast. In an ideal morning routine for men, all men should wake up early so that they have ample time to cook breakfast. It is imperative to check your fridge for the required ingredients the day before. You don’t want to open the fridge in the morning and see that you have run out of eggs.

If for some reason you woke up late, then you should get a healthy snack for the road. Always avoid unhealthy and junk food in the breakfast as that can make things worse for you.

Keep Yourself Hydrated

Let’s move from food to water. Keeping yourself hydrated is one of the most important aspects of morning routine for men. Even a 2nd grade student can tell you about the importance of water. Human beings need water for survival. When your body isn’t hydrated you are unable to perform most of the daily tasks of the day. When you are sleeping, your body keeps on functioning.

Breathing also makes you feel dehydrated. This is why you might have experienced a dry mouth in the morning. Most people know that not drinking water for days can be fatal but what they don’t realize is that even a small amount of dehydration can stop your body from functioning to its full potential. It is recommended that you should drink at least 1 liter of water every morning.

Get Some Sun

Your body absorbs sun rays which are a massive source of vitamin D. Studies have shown that sun rays can help you wake up better in the morning. When the first sun rays hit your body, you are bound to feel a sensation in your body. An ideal way to get sun rays in the morning would be to have your bed right in front of the window.

Read A Newspaper or Other Similar Material

In the old times, reading a newspaper was a very important part of morning routine for men. It was considered an essential part of morning routine for men. People, mostly men did not feel comfortable starting the day without knowing some of the major headlines. If you don’t want to read a newspaper, you can read any other relevant material. Read some books or inspirational articles that would help you feel good and confident about the day ahead. Avoid reading any negative material.

Groom Yourself

Grooming is as important for men as it is for women. Some men like to shave every day. It is always good to keep yourself groomed. Even if you have a beard you should keep it well maintained. No morning routine for men can be complete without working a little on the facial hair. Use cologne as well so you smell good while at the office.

Spend Time With Family

In this fast-moving world, finding time for your loved ones is a blessing. Most families tend to have dinner together. Breakfast is another time when everyone in the house is at the dining table. You can utilize this time to bond with your family. Spending quality time with your family in the morning can do wonders for you throughout the day. You would feel more happy and relaxed about the day.

Make Your Bed

Once you get out of bed, you shouldn’t just leave it as that. The whole concept of morning routine for men is that men should feel more elegant and organized in life. This is why it should be an important part of morning routine for men to wake up and make their bed. Set the sheet straight and put the pillows in their place. Making your bed right after you get up can be the first step towards a great day.

Drink Coffee

Many men prefer to drink a large mug of coffee every day. Coffee does help, but I don’t recommend excessive consumption of coffee. Excessive consumption of coffee can make you immune to the affects of caffeine. Overtime, this will lower the positive aspects of drinking coffee. This is why it is ‘okay’ to consume coffee but you should limit the consumption to a certain level.

Don’t Touch Your Mobile Phone

Morning routine for men can include a lot of things that would help them get along with their day. In addition to that, there are also many things that should be avoided in your morning routine. Checking your mobile phone is one of them. Mobile phones have become an essential part of life. So it is ideal to keep away from your mobile phone in the morning, otherwise, you will get hooked and waste time.

As it has become such an important part of our lives, you can check it once after you wake up. After that, you shouldn’t check it until you are moving towards your car to head out. Checking out your mobile phone during your morning routine will distract you and might even cause you to skip some of your previously planned morning routine tasks.

The rays emitted from the mobile phone can also be dangerous for the eyes and skin. When you wake up, your eyes are relatively sensitive which is why you feel a glare when you look at the mobile screen in the morning. So always try to avoid looking at your mobile phone in the morning.

Steer Clear of Bad News

It is okay for you to read the newspaper or read inspirational article. However, if you see something depressing in the newspaper, try to avoid reading it. You don’t have to read such news in the morning as it will ruin your entire day. This isn’t just limited to the newspaper. If you see something negative or depressing in the morning news or in the articles then you should try to avoid that as well.

Change the channel when something depressing or tragic is on the television. Listening or watching negative news can have very bad affect on your mental condition. It can keep you disturbed your entire day. Thus distracting you away from doing your daily activities.

Never Hit The Snooze Button

The snooze button is your biggest enemy in the morning. One of the biggest problems faced in the morning routine for men is that they use the snooze button a lot. Studies have shown that people who use the snooze button a lot end up getting late to their destination. The snooze button takes away all the effectiveness of the alarm.

You set the alarm to wake up. Now for some reason, if you can wake up then the snooze button would make your mobile ring again and thus helping you forcefully wake up. Try to develop a habit of waking up on the first tone of the alarm. Pressing the snooze button can ruin your entire morning routine. You should just think that your mobile phone does not have a snooze button. The snooze button has made a lot of people lazy which is why it should always be avoided.

Now when I say never hit the snooze button, I don’t mean that you should keep on sleeping and miss the day at work. What I mean is that you should never develop the habit of hitting the snooze button; you should wake upright on the first alarm. Believe it or not, people have actually trained themselves to wake up on the first alarm.
